Our house at Heritage Acres Farm.

13 stall barn with attached 12x72 private paddocks and 60x153 indoor riding arena.
Heritage Acres Farm was established in 2000 by Jennifer and Larry Schultz. We offer horse boarding, horse training, and riding lessons from beginning to advanced.

Heritage Acres Farm is a first-class training facility specializing in Classical French Dressage. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or pleasure trail rider; training at Heritage Acres Farm will help you build a long lasting partnership with your equine partner.

Dressage in French means "to train". So no matter what your discipline, dressage will help you in your skills and knowledge with you and your horse.

Jennifer teaches huntseat, western pleasure, trail, and dressage, and all western performance riders. The result with dressage principles will be an enhancement of your abilities as a competitor, trainer and rider

Our farm is situated on 60 acres. We have fenced off about 25 acres for pasture land. Two large pastures with divider fencing to keep the mares and geldings apart. And three smaller pastures for training and show horses. We will be growing our own hay on another 20 acres, and the rest is for the house, shop, horse barn, hay barn, riding arenas, lawn, and gardens.

Our soil is mostly clay and in the spring it can get pretty wet. The advantage of this heavy soil is that, even in times of hot, dry weather, our pastures stay green and growing. Also, no problems with sand colic. To minimize the problems associated with wet feet on horses, all of the boarded and training horses are able to spend the night in a dry stall. We also have brought in tons of lime-screenings for the private paddocks to help keep them dry.

HERE IS A LOVELY POEM BY BARB BELLMER. ENJOY!!

It all began with my annual "hunt" for an indoor arena, and good care away from the homefront. My search led not far away to Heritage Acres Farm which offered many ammenities loaded with charm. There I met the Schultz's- Larry and Jenn, who would soon become Boss's new "mother hen".In November Boss (and I) moved in, ready for the "Winter Camp" to begin>

Friendships were made, both human and horse. Jana,so sweet, and Laura of course. Flash became a new "best friend"...Playing and sharing some hay now and then. But Chiron was the "Big Gun"  the star if you will. Larger than lifesize, Jenn handled him with skill. Barn time was always extended when Jenn was out. Conversations abounded and "problems" resolved without a doubt.

The arena was incredible with great footing to boot. Those patterns and tests were easier to execute. We worked on some issues enlisting Jenn's guidance. Lessons began and movements did enhance.

Once Jenn was riding and thought Boss should give more. He had another opinion, so through the air she did soar! Though not quite dramatic, on her feet Jenn did land. However, Boss became humble and got a sincere reprimand! Boss had a sense of humor, and thank goodness for Jenn"s or because of this incident, we might have been " has beens" !!!

When Jenn went to Florida, the chores Idid do, and decided this "job" was too much work to pursue. First give hay and the grain; don't forget watering too. Barn sweeping did follow and the time surely flew! It made me grateful for Jenn's perserverance. To help out was fun temporarily by circumstance!!

Winter went on and snow covered the ground. But soon April came and we were homebound. But the weather wasn't conducive, so another week we stayed. We weren't disappointed our exodus was delayed!! We'll miss the camaraderie, the friends we made. We've really enjoyed ourselves when Boss and I "played"

Well-the time went so quickly; it passed in a blur. We sure hope a stall will be waiting for us again this next year!!!!!!!
